It's true that the texture doesn't go back to the same as fresh or fresh/cooked when you rehydrate these BUT with all the prep work done for me I can live with that! I do sometimes put the (raw, freeze dried) broccoli into soups but my fave way is right out of the bag (along with sipping a bit of water). I love broccoli and am especially a fan of adding butter, salt, and pepper to steamed broccoli. With that said, I STILL love this right out of the bag. :)
You won't confuse these with freshly steamed broccoli crowns, but it is an easy way to add some veggies to those high carb/protein/salt freeze-dried meals that backpackers survive on. We added the entire bag to a 2-serving package of Mountain House Turkey Tetrazinni. One suggestion: create a 4-serving package split into two 2-serving sub-packets.
Sorry but I am not a fan of your dehydrated products. Maybe they need sea salt or something. I am not a pack packer just on Keto and hoped they would be a good snack.
Hi Nancy - I’m sorry our Freeze-Dried Broccoli wasn’t as what you expected.
We keep our freeze-dried foods 100% natural with the exception of our Specialties Collection.
If we added sea salt or some seasoning it wouldn’t be 100% natural anymore. We give the customer the freedom to do what they want when they get their product.
Thank you for trying our freeze-dried foods!
Best broccoli I’ve tried!
Happy to support a small business!
